Weight Loss- The Best Times To Eat

Diabetic Pump:

When I was finishing college, eating was not a planned event for me. I ate because I got hungry; and sometimes the eating part could not happen until hours after the whole hungry thing. It was a cycle that seemed too difficult to regulate - however, anyone can originate an eating program for him or her self. There are things to keep in mind (or in your purse, backpack or briefcase, for that matter) which will help to begin with.

Getting hungry does not have to hold you back, especially if you are ready for it. Doing something as easy as carrying a snack with you when you are away from home is a great place to start. This is a particularly great idea when you have issue regulating your eating because of a busy or sporadic schedule. In order to survive, there are restrictions put on everyone's life. For example: you must be here at a positive time, you must have a positive task completed in a positive time-frame and so on.

Diabetic Pump:Weight Loss- The Best Times To Eat

Perhaps you don't have time to sit and wait in a fast food drive straight through line, or possibly that is exactly your problem. If you only have time to go grab something from the local burger joint and eat it quick before the next big thing, you may not be starving, but you do not have much control over how salutary you are eating. Especially if you want to loose weight, both starving your self until you have the time to eat, as well as eating mostly unhealthy foods (such as fast food and snack foods) are unwise eating habits.

The most primary way to eat is three times per day. We even have names for these exact times throughout the day that everyone's stomach should keep. However, we ignore our stomach sometimes, and this tends to make us unhealthy. The first meal of your day should be right before you begin your day. Many habitancy will exercise, or possibly drink his or her coffee, and do other things to put in order for his or her day, and wholly forget to have an actual meal.

The second meal of your day is also frequently skipped. There are supposed to be times set aside for midday meals for every laborer at any full-time job, nonetheless, a lot of habitancy feel high amounts of stress and a need to "catch up" that overwhelms his or her basic need to go get a sandwich. As a matter of fact, as much as many habitancy believe they just can not spare a particular second, your brain works much less effectively when it is deprived of the nutrients we are meant to consume. Taking vitamins is an alternative that many habitancy try, but no matter how many vitamin pills you take they work best in your body when they are plainly consumed. In addition, swallowing pills would never satisfy a salutary hunger.

The last meal is after your day (if you have a short or "normal" nine-to-five work day). This meal gets pushed aside, pushed away or pushed out all together when some habitancy have later and even more demanding schedules. Many of these habitancy will eat a huge meal at the end of the day, if he or she goes to bed right away, it is even less healthy. But "fasting" all day and then piquant huge portions of food will confuse the body. To put it simple, gorging once daily will not help anyone loose weight.

Then, of course, there all the habitancy who have the opposite problem, they have (as mother once told me) one meal a day . . . All day long. You do not have to be unemployed, a stay-at-home mom, or depressed to be eating this kind of all day meal. Often, a man who eats all day will eat unhealthy foods. Eat all day. This is a mixed kind of eating habit it can be defined as neither good nor bad without the details. The conditions are simple: What do you eat? How much do you eat? How frequently are you eating? How consistently?

If man keeps a bag of chips or a box of cookies in their desk drawer, or beside their computer, and runs back and forth from the vending machine drinking quarterly sodas all day he or she is assuredly worse-off. Don't let that minuscule welcoming bowl of caramels invite your fingers in all day. Your blood sugar levels will rise, but then blood sugar levels will drop again swiftly when you are snacking on sweets. Carbohydrates allow a minuscule more time, but proteins will keep the body from needing more food much more efficiently. In other words, you won't need (or feel the need) to eat again for longer.

Any meats will do, but healthier choices for a protein source are things like beans, chicken, and tuna. Of course, it is a great idea to keep protein bars with you at the office, (or wherever you work and / or study) but crackers are best than chips, fruit instead of cookies etc. Small steps are very leading for your health.

If you just need something to munch on, there are salutary foods with virtually no fats and / or sugars that you can eat. Or just begin with something other than candy, cake or fries for goodness sake, now that we know so much about health and diet. Any habits are hard to break, but when it comes to your health . . . It is very leading to try.

The biggest catch is that you should be eating the right foods, and another (though not as important) changeable is when you eat your meals. Many habitancy have a "cut-off" time, after which he or she will not eat anything, because one's metabolism slows when one is sleeping, which means that the body will keep more fats and calories.

But what foods should you eat? This varies a minuscule bit, of course, from private to individual. There are considerations, however, that will alter your personal diet such as allergies to positive foods and your needs for more or less of a exact kind of food. For example: if you are anemic, you will need more proteins. If you are very active you will need more carbohydrates and / or electrolytes.

If you are a candidate for a diabetic condition, please be careful. Diabetes is an unfortunate disease (of course, virtually all are) to avoid it is very leading - and often risk can be determined by genetics, or, family history. No private nutrient, dietary supplement or kind of salutary food you like includes all of the food the body needs. Therefore, you should eat a collection of foods (diabetic potential, or condition, or neither) containing the balance of nutrients we need. Here are four basic examples are carbohydrates, fats, fiber, and proteins - not to mention additional vitamins and minerals from natural produce, dietary supplements, vitamins, etcetera.

Carbohydrates contribute vigor and most importantly, they will replenish the vigor you burn if you have an active life. Fat is a nutrient that your body can not do without. Nonetheless, fats are virtually universally known to be bad if taken in excess. You must be sure to consume adequate fats, but you must also be sure to not consume too many fats. Fiber is very important, it will help to lower blood glucose (or blood sugar) levels and help keep the digestive tract cleaner and, it will work more efficiently. Protein is principal for growing in general, along with the continued strengthening and function of the vital organs.

The good news for you if you are an all day eater is that nutritionists often advise that man (especially man who wants to loose weight) eat five or six small meals during the day as opposed to the regular, primary three meals a day. Doing so will help you allege quantum control. In other words, you will plainly eat smaller portions because your stomach will be smaller (literally) you will become full more quickly, and you will not get as hungry between meals.

Must See: The first trial with Artificial Pancreas system in a diabetes camp - Subtitles in English

Must See: The first trial with Artificial Pancreas system in a diabetes camp - Subtitles in English - Diabetic Pump

The Diabetes wiREless Artificial pancreas consortiuM (DREAM) recently evaluated the MD-Logic Artificial Pancreas (MDLAP) system in an innovative trial project taken place in Israel, Slovenia and Germany. The aim of the trial was to provide a real solution to patients with diabetes, using the MDLAP in a diabetes camp outside the confines of the hospital. This is a significant landmark in research: this is to the best of our knowledge the first time in the world that such a trial project has been taken outside the hospital, illustrating a "normal" life for youngsters with diabetes, while using an automatic insulin delivery system during the night. The MD Logic system which was developed at Schneider Children's represents the "artificial pancreas" technological solution comprising of an off-the-shelf subcutaneous glucose sensor that monitors the glucose level and an insulin pump. The sensor and pump are connected to a computer that programs the information and stipulates the amount of insulin that should be released to the body in order to maintain blood glucose balance. This innovation "closes the loop" between the sensor and the pump and relieves the patients with diabetes from the daily burden of dealing with their diabetes and has the potential to significantly improve the quality of life of patients with diabetes. The artificial pancreas trial outside the hospital was conducted as a prospective cross-over study within the framework of the 3-day DREAM Camp for children ...

Seven Foods That Can simply sell out Erectile Dysfunction

Diabetic Pump:

For years we have heard the expression "You are What You Eat." There is some truth to this food tale. Researchers have identified that the foods men eat can easily or negatively corollary the likelihood of developing Erectile Dysfunction. Erectile Dysfunction or Ed, is a sexual dysfunction that results in men having diminished erections not adequate for sexual intercourse, or no erection at all.

A uncomplicated and natural remedy for male impotence is to modify your diet and eating habits. This narrative will show you which foods to eliminate and those to growth in your diet, to help reduce the chances of you developing erectile dysfunction, and if you already have erectile dysfunction, this data may help you recognize the foods that may be contributing to your sexual dysfunction.

Erectile Dysfunction is caused by the lack of adequate blood flow to the penis indispensable to achieve an erection. The prominent medical causes of erectile dysfunction in the 30 million American men who are effected each year are heart disease, high blood pressure, hypertension, thyroid conditions, diabetes, low testosterone and obesity. The foods American men eat, commonly containing high levels of sodium, cholesterol and fat, along with the lack of exercise and poor sleeping habits can play a contributing role in the whole of citizen with these conditions, and thus the high numbers of men with problems achieving or maintaining erections. If you have erectile dysfunction, see your doctor for a corporal exam to see if this is the root of your problems. If you have one of these conditions, but do not have a sexual dysfunction, you may still want to consult your doctor to see if you are a candidate for erectile dysfunction and what lifestyle modifications you should make to ensure you stay healthy.

Diabetic Pump:Seven Foods That Can simply sell out Erectile Dysfunction

Each of these medical conditions effects the heart's ability to pump adequate blood to the vital organs of the human body; and the penis requires a lot of blood to fill the three sponge-like chambers to achieve and voice an erection.

While medications like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra enhance a man's ability to get an erection temporarily, they don't get to the root causes of the erectile dysfunction to cure it permanently, and these medications come with many side effects as well.

While it is prominent to eat a heart wholesome diet, exercise commonly and get seven to eight hours of sleep per night to ensure optimum health, if you have a sexual dysfunction, it is prominent to see your doctor for a corporal exam. Sexual dysfunctions have many corporal and emotional causes, and it is prominent to recognize the cause of your male impotence.

These are the Foods To reduce or Eliminate That Can contribute to Sexual Dysfunction:

* Foods high in sodium (salt). A diet containing foods high in sodium can lead to high blood pressure.

* Foods containing trans-fats (processed foods). Trans-fats are a prominent cause of clogged arteries and heart disease. A someone with cardiovascular disease ordinarily has insufficient flood flow to the major organs and diminished blood flow is the cause of erectile dysfunction.

* Foods high in sugar. A diet high in sugar can lead to weight gain, diabetes and obesity. indispensable weight gain puts pressure on the heart, arteries and vital organs to function properly. This type of pressure on the heart significantly decreases blood flow to the organs, together with the penis adequate to furnish an erection adequate for intercourse.

* Foods high in cholesterol. A diet high in cholesterol is a prominent contributor of heart disease, similar to trans-fats. A someone with cardiovascular disease ordinarily has insufficient flood flow to the major organs and diminished blood flow is the cause of erectile dysfunction.

Seven Foods To Eat That Can preclude Sexual Dysfunction are:

* Dark green leafy vegetables. Dark green leafy vegetables are a good source of zinc. Zinc has been proven to growth blood flow to the major organs, and has been shown to enhance blood flow to the penis in those with Ed.

* Foods High in Potassium (especially for older men age 6o and above). Foods high in Potassium is a natural combatant to the high levels of sodium found in most canned and processed foods. Just as too much salt leads to high blood pressure, low potassium levels throws off the natural balance of electrolytes and can corollary in high blood pressure.

* Foods low in sugar. High consumption of sugar is a major contributor to weight gain and diabetes. Unhealthy weight gain puts pressure on the heart and and major organs to function properly. When the heart has to work harder to pump blood to the organs, it is more difficult to pump the weighty whole of blood needed to get and voice an erection. Diabetes damages the organs and nerves, and hardens the arteries, manufacture it more difficult for the body to function properly. Eating a diet low in sugar will help voice a optimum body weight and fat index.

* Foods low in fat. Eating foods high in fat is a major contributor to weight gain and heart disease. Unhealthy weight gain puts pressure on the heart and and major organs to function properly. When the heart has to work harder to pump blood to the organs due to weight gain and heart disease, it is more difficult to pump the weighty whole of blood needed to get and voice an erection. Eating a diet low in fat will help voice optimum body weight and help keep the arteries from getting clogged, thus ensuring adequate blood flow to the major organs, together with the penis, which requires a large whole of blood to achieve and voice an erection.

* Foods low in cholesterol and trans-fats. There are two types of cholesterol, Ldl (Low-density lipoprotein) and Hdl (High-density lipoprotein) Ldl is the "bad cholesterol" that builds up in the arteries causing coronary heart disease and a prominent cause of heart attacks. Foods high in Ldl are those that comprise tran-fats, such partially hydrogenated oil. Hdl is the "good cholesterol" that has been shown to scrub the arteries of the plaque build-up that impairs good flow of blood straight through the body. Foods high in Niacin (Vitamin B) are naturally high in Hdl. Triglycerides is both Hdl and Ldl. You should have high Hdl and low Ldl. See your doctor for a cholesterol test to see how much Ldl and Hdl is in your blood, especially if you suffer from erectile dysfunction.

* Foods High in Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Omega-3 Fatty Acids are indispensable to control heart disease, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer's, diabetes and more. Heart Disease and hypertension are prominent causes of sexual dysfunction, and many men who narrative weak erections tends to have diets low in Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Foods high in Omega-3 Fatty Acids are fish, flaxseed, walnuts, eggs, Canola Oil, and pumpkin seeds. Dha supplements are another way to boost your intake of Omega-3 Fatty Acids.

* Fruits, together with bananas, strawberries, cantaloupe, oranges and watermelon are an indispensable source of phyto-nutrients. Watermelon especially is a good source of lycopene. Lycopene relaxes blood vessels, similar to how Viagra works, but naturally and without the side effects.

To Your Health!

Who Am I to recommend You to Be Fit?

Diabetic Pump:

Who Am I To Tell You What To Do?

It's no secret. We are overweight. We are bombarded with facts about how we're dying because of our sedentary lifestyles. Our condition care systems are charging higher premiums because of weight connected diseases being on the rise. Our troops is turning recruits away due to obesity, children are developing Adult Onset Diabetes and even Shaq produced his own reality show about obese kids. These are just a few examples.

So, we know where we stand. It's in our face now. We know we need to change. We know we need to Get Moving!! So why don't we? Well, having been out of shape and overweight, I get it. I know what it's like to be what society and the news are warning us about. I'll tell my story in this narrative and hope that maybe some of you can quote and learn.

Diabetic Pump:Who Am I to recommend You to Be Fit?

Pain can be a motivator.

I have all the time been lazy by nature. Lazy in both mind and body. It caught up with me though. Before I knew it, clothes shopping, communal activities and even thinking (now that's lazy) had all come to be undesirable situations that are a part of normal and daily life. Who authentically enjoys seeing in their closet for hours only to find they just don't like the way they look in anything? For me, the lack of confidence, vigor and all colse to lethargic feeling towards life had spiraled out of control to create a vicious cycle that only created more of what it already was in my life and change seemed impossible.

I would work tirelessly throughout the day with no vigor left over to devote to my fitness needs and the nourishment aspect of life wasn't any better. I would resolve for eating anyone was quick and ready because this is what most of us do when we're busy. I was tired, I was in corporal pain and didn't know how to begin to crawl out of the hole I had created for my body and therefore, my life. There weren't sufficient ibuprofen in the world for me at that point and something had to change.

Have an intention and the world will create a pathway to get there.

I noticed an ad and landed a job at a local fitness town without needing any fitness certifications or sense to work the front desk. I had prayed for the right set of circumstances to cross my path and the potential to identify them and this was it. It was out of my relax zone and I didn't think I belonged at such a place, but I had to put myself out there. I had exercised in the past and knew the basics, so with the exposure to the equipment, I got moving. It was tough at first. I was out of shape, out of breath and out of strength. Still, I knew what I needed to do and persevere. It didn't take but a concentrate of weeks to observation improvements and then I was hooked. It became senseless to eat the wrong foods after putting in so much work in practice that I began to plan my meals and take them with me. More on nutritional coarse sense in another article. seeing results kept me motivated. It took some time, but all good things take time.

After being warned (respectfully) by my manager about the perils of practice study without certifications, assurance and formal knowledge, I realized it was time to take it to the next level. It was time to go to school. This was a huge step because I was lazy and afraid of school. I would miss my sofa and comfortable (however, not enjoyable) routine. I will get into detail about fitness education, schools and what to look for in a educator in a later article.

It's never too late to be better.

One year later, 35-40 pounds lighter and having earned several certificates of formal hands on training from one of the best schools in the country about practice science and instruction, I'm now unstoppable and I'm on a mission. You see, if I could get my lazy ass off the sofa, get exciting and lose weight, anyone can. It's the thoughts that need to change. I had changed my thoughts and therefore, I've changed my body. It takes a few small steps, the right support, advice and the potential to be held accountable for our actions and we can do what we set out to do.

Am I suggesting becoming a trainer? Maybe. It could be an awesome vocation selection and society needs superior and educated fitness professionals. What I'm suggesting is to surround yourself at any potential given time to condition and fitness connected materials ready to you and learn. This is part of what helped me. I was surrounded by the world of fitness and it inspired me. Just watching people move can sometimes be sufficient to encourage movement. Knowing that mountains can only be climbed one step at a time helps us comprehend that this isn't an overnight situation. One way or another, just get moving.

Results speak louder than any other voice in your head.

As I sit and write this now, even I know it's time for me to get moving. It isn't because I have the insatiable desire to sweat. It's because it's the right thing to do. It's gotten me to feel pride about who I am and how I live. practice delivers oxygen to the brain, so I ought to be pumped for my next article.

Just remember this, for every reason, getting fit is naturally the right thing to do.

Coffee (Pre-Workout)

Diabetic Pump:

I think one of the hardest parts of working out is getting a consistent workout schedule. Motivation has been one of my biggest problems, but a big pre-workout disposition I have established is with the use of coffee before my workouts. For me this comes in the form of a cup of coffee (which I prefer hot), the stronger the better. Some habitancy use supplements before workouts for enhancement benefits, which can take up to thirty minutes to kick in, with coffee I can feel it working instantly.

How Coffee Aids in Workouts:

The thing that gives coffee its jolt that makes workout best is the caffeine, which is a central nervous theory stimulant. Caffeine also increases Dopamine, which works to start the pleasure parts of the brain. Overall, caffeine makes you feel alert; it pumps adrenaline to help give you more energy, the dopamine growth makes you feel best which results in best workout. There has been studies done on elite swimmers and runners who have used coffee before there events which indicate growth performances. I seldom skip my daily cup of coffee followed by a workout, which I have found to be an awesome combination. Here are a few likes and dislikes that I have about using coffee as a pre-workout supplement:

Diabetic Pump:Coffee (Pre-Workout)

Likes:
• Increases energy
• Improves workout
• Quick and fast acting
• Very uncostly for pre-workout supplement use

Dislikes:
• Drinking it too close to bedtime can cause insomnia
• Can act as a diuretic if too much is consumed

Health Benefits of Coffee Consumption:

There has been turn over the safety of coffee drinking but coffee lover my be surprised to learn the agreeing to WebMd, coffee might be linked with lowering the risk of Parkinson's Disease, colon cancer, and one of America's most recent epidemics-type 2 diabetes. Over decades there have been more than 19,000 studies on the effects of coffee drinking and Thomas DePaulis, Phd, explore scientist at Vanderbilt's University for Coffee studies on the branch of coffee drinking "For most people, very exiguous bad comes from drinking it, but a lot of good".

There have been times I have skipped my cup of coffee because I was in a hurry or just plain forgot and I could authentically tell the difference in how much exertion I put into my workout routine. When I was pregnant, I was afraid to drink coffee because of the caffeine but my condition care provider said that as long as I kept it to one cup there should not be a problem, and it was not. Beside help to improve my workouts, I authentically like the taste of coffee, so my ask to you is; Second cup anybody.

It doesn't matter whether the someone you're buying for is a Type 1 (insulin dependent) or Type 2 (adult onset) diabetic, although their diet may need to be slightly different, there are gifts will work equally well for both.

So here's our top seven ideas to give you inspiration for buying the exquisite gift this holiday season:-

Diabetic Pump:7 Easy Christmas Gifts For Diabetics

1. Fruit Gift Basket - the exquisite easy solution if you're buying online or from a store. This is the exquisite gift for any time of year, make up with seasonal fruits the day before to ensure it's fresh. The basket makes a great keepsake once all the fruit has been eaten and enjoyed!

2. Food Hamper - a great homemade gift that's easy to make yourself. Consist of nuts, cheese, coffee, pate, tea, wholegrain crackers/biscuits, wholemeal pasta and other low carb and sugar free foods. Don't Consist of items with refined flour or sugar.

3. Dark Chocolate - contrary to what many habitancy think, this is probably great for your condition than quarterly chocolate. Go for a bar of at least 70% solids or buy a small selection of Belgian style dark chocs for a extra treat. Do not be tempted to buy "diabetic chocolate" or any similarly labelled products item in the store - these can work out far more high-priced than putting something together yourself.

4. Skin Care/Beauty - this is a failsafe present. As some diabetics struggle with dryer skin, select moisturizing items that are based on natural ingredients. A good gift during cold winter months is a luxury hand cream or chap stick for lips - the sort of item that folk often don't make time or the funds to buy for themselves.

5. Insulin & Pump Accessories - how about a funky cool bag - when travelling or on vacation, it's helpful to have a small cool bag to carry insulin and keep it chilled. Type 2 Diabetes and Olive Oil!

Diabetic Pump:

One type of fat that merits a place in the diet for reversing Type 2 Diabetes is monounsaturated fat. One of the best properties of monounsaturated fats is their stability. Unlike polyunsaturated fats, they can withstand heat without breaking down into harmful substances... Therefore they are the best choice for cooking.

The best monounsaturated fat is virgin olive oil.

According to a study published last year in the Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry, together with this particular oil in your diet might be helpful for controlling:

  • blood pressure
  • cholesterol, and
  • fatty acids

in Type 2 diabetics.

Researchers at the Institute of Cooking Fat in Seville, Spain studied 17 Type 2 diabetic elderly volunteers and 23 non-diabetic elderly volunteers receiving a diet rich in virgin olive oil for 4 weeks. For both groups of volunteers, the systolic (top number), blood pressure was reduced. Low-density lipoprotein was protected from oxidation. Systolic blood pressure (lower number) is the force of the blood against the walls of the arteries with every heartbeat. When the systolic blood pressure is reduced, your heart does not have to pump as hard as it did when the pressure was higher.

Olive oil is:

  • obtained from ground olives grown in Mediterranean countries, Australia, and California in the United States
  • extracted by whether bodily or mechanical means.

Virgin olive oil is extracted by bodily means.

If you are used to frying foods in fats such as butter or lard, substituting oil for the other fat might be a good way to begin together with salutary oil in your diet. Development salad dressings can be a easy matter of mixing a tiny virgin olive oil with balsamic vinegar. Broccoli baked in a microwave becomes literally tasty when a tiny salutary oil is dribbled over it. For those who like to cook, there are many recipes for Development more construe dishes with virgin olive oil.

Theveggietable.com recommends Development an asparagus salad with asparagus, lemon juice, olives, mint, bell pepper, onions and olive oil. A tiny crumbled goat cheese can be added if you wish. Or try chilled avocado soup with limes, avocados, garlic, peppers, oil and cilantro or parsley. Thevegancookbook.com suggests a salad dressing made from cashews, water, salutary oil, apple cider vinegar, tamari, lemon juice, and black pepper.

Of course, corrective does not necessarily mean low in calories... Olive oil is a fat. At 119 fat (500 kj) per tablespoon it should not be eaten with abandon, but can be part of a low or moderate calorie/kilojoule diet with a tiny planning. It is regularly recommended added fat should be tiny to 1 to 2 tablespoons per day. The remainder of the fat in your diet will come from that simply gift in food recommended for Type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes on the Rise!

Diabetic Pump:

The facts in this piece, was taken from an description which appeared in the Albuquerque Journal (July, 2006), and was written by Lisa Roberts of the Orlando Sentinel. The description talks about the dangers of diabetes and what can be done to treat and preclude it. The newspaper description here has been quoted...I have paraphrased clear parts, and I have added my own two cents, etc.

* * *
One of the questions I all the time ask my doctor, when I go in to see the results of a corporeal examination every year...is if there is anything seriously wrong with the corporeal like cancer; diabetes or someone else life-threatening disease! I can wait for all that other stuff in the healing report. When he says, "no, everything is fine," I'm relieved, to say the least!

In the past, I have known two population who have died from diabetes. My Aunt Molly and the man who lived next door to my parents. Both of them met a similar fate...as they both became blind; both had a leg amputated, and both were in their early 50's when they passed away. (much too young!)

Diabetic Pump:Diabetes on the Rise!

Before I got laid off from one of my jobs, I worked side by side with a fellow for over six years. He was overweight, and apparently didn't take sufficient care of the problem. One day, he went to the doctor for a check-up and he got the bad news...he had diabetes! I noticed the change of attitude right away. He became withdrawn; reserved; distant and he told me depression was beginning to set in. Because I like to be around population with a good sense of humor, I noticed that his sense of humor had changed as well...for the worse! (I can't blame him for that)

* * *

* Article: "If you don't know someone with diabetes, there's a good opportunity you will someday. A recent study found the occurrence of Type 2 diabetes has doubled over the last 30 years. someone else estimated that a third of U.S. Adults...more than 73 million...suffer diabetes or may be developing it. naturally put, it's an epidemic, and it's driven by sedentary lifestyle and obesity, the up swing of which intimately parallels the increase of the disease, says Dr. Kimberley Bourne, a Orlando Fla., endocrinologist who treats diabetics."

* My two cents: In my article, "How I Lost 40 Pounds," the opinion of getting diabetes was one of my main concerns and motivators, as I fear getting any life-threatening disease! And, because diabetes affects mostly population who are overweight. I knew when I stepped off that scale in the doctor's office, that I was going to lose the 40 pounds, which was my goal. And, I didn't care how long it took...6 months...a year or longer! The Weight Was Going To Come Off!

* Article: "Diabetes is a disease in which the body doesn't produce properly, or ignores insulin. The hormone regulates the metabolism of blood glucose...sugar...which fuels our cells. When diabetes takes hold, glucose can build up in the body and coat blood vessels and nerves. Left untreated, the disease can cause an array of devastating maladies, along with blindness; cardiovascular disease; and kidney failure. When glucose interrupts impulses and blood flow to extremities, diabetics sometimes are unaware of things such as cuts, scrapes, and blisters, which may become infected. In severe cases, an amputation might be necessary."

* My Two Cents: The rehearsal for me consists of walking and jogging 10-15 miles a week in 1986, and in the year 2006, I still do my walking and jogging every week. I unmistakably didn't know very much about diabetes, until I read a few articles, and after I did, I knew I would stay with it for the rest of my life, as I hope I well be able to do so.

* Article: "Though the exact cause of diabetes hasn't been determined, explore has repeatedly pointed the finger at Obesity as maybe the many risk of all. As weight increases, the pancreas pumps out more and more insulin to deal with increased blood sugar," says Dr. Bourne.

* My Two Cents: For me, rehearsal is so easy, and can be done approximately any time or any place. For example; There are times when I watch a football game on television, and I don't necessarily like to watch the half-time activities. So, it's easy for me to go face and run a mile or so, and then walk back to cool off. That takes about twenty minutes, and when I get back, it's time for the second half of the ballgame to start. I get to watch the ballgame and get a slight rehearsal at the same time.

In 2005, I was hospitalized for over three months, and I would walk up and down the hallways everyday to try to get some sort of exercise. I did it so much while the three months, that I can tell you just how many floor tiles are in Ward 5B and Ward 5C! (Isn't this exciting?) I pushed my slight walker (beep-beep)...and, putt-putted my way around the hospital to get my exercise. But, I wasn't the only "crazy" someone walking up and down the halls! any of the other veterans would walk up and down the halls as well, etc. So, getting rehearsal is easy, and can be done approximately anywhere.

* Article: "Prevention and early medicine of diabetes are supreme goals, says Mark Williams, Ceo of community condition Centers Inc., which operates a network of Central Florida clinics and offers diabetes screening. 'As a community, diabetes is one of those diseases that screams 'treat me early' so we can avoid complications, because complications are so very expensive.'"

* My Two Cents: The walking and jogging I do, takes care of the lower body, and I've been "pumping aluminum," to take care of the upper body. When I went to the sports section of a department store seeing for the location of the dumb bells, I asked the clerk where the dumb bells were...and he just looked at Me!

* Article: "At the Florida Hospital Diabetes town in Orlando, diabetics are proving that eating well and working out can help control the disease. Gym members test their blood before and after their workouts, and the variation they see in their blood sugar after exercising motivates them to keep on the move, says Paul Frickman, the center's rehearsal coordinator. It's not unusual to see blood sugar tumble from, say 140 to the norman range, which is in the middle of 70 and 100. The advantage of a workout lasts from 24 to 72 hours. someone else bonus: 'When you exercise, sugar goes into your body without the aid of insulin,' he says, so a diabetic's trust on drugs may lessen."

*My Two Cents: I've never done rehearsal on a treadmill. I've all the time liked to go outdoors and "smell the roses," watch the sun rise and set on the horizon, and watch the leaves turn color, etc. We're becoming a country of concrete and asphalt , so I like to get a slight dirt and grass under my feet once in a while.

* Article: "Talar Glover, a clinical nurse expert at the center, says today's super sized meal portions and fat-and-sugar laden foods, as well as a collection of social conditions, are helping to fuel the disease. through many believe diabetes is about eating excess sugar, 'it's not about sugars...it's about carbohydrates. They turn into sugar,' she says. That's why diets should be based on a balance of meat, fruits, vegetables, dairy produces and whole grains."

Prescription For Diabetes: Diet And Exercise.

For over twenty years, exercising has been a way of life for me, and my condition has been my top priority. I have to get out and get my "fix" every week of running and jogging! "Sweat therapy," has help me to sleep better; sell out the stress in my life; be more creative; clear the cob webs from my head; get more ideas; and solve problems too, etc.

And, I'll keep doing what I've been doing over the past twenty years...that is...walking, jogging, and "pumping aluminum." But, as I grow older, I have to make some changes. I will now have to start "pumping aluminum foil," instead!

History and Origins of Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetic Pump:

One of the most devastating diseases known to man is diabetes, and it has been recognized for over two thousand years, but there is no history of type 2 diabetes, or any other differentiation between different types of diabetes, until the twentieth century. It was not until 1935 that it was discovered that there were multiple types of diabetes, and it could be said that this is where the history of type 2 diabetes truly began.

In 1935 Roger Hinsworth made the marvelous search for that there were, in fact, two different types of diabetes. Those which were sensitive to insulin (Type 1), and those that were not (Type 2). This breakthrough was finally made inherent by the relatively modern discovery of insulin in 1921, and presumably came about when doctors noticed that insulin injections were having less of an consequent on some diabetes patients.

In the 1950's, a new medication was created that is considered to be the beginnings of the history of type 2 diabetes treatments. There was no history of type 2 diabetes medicine whatsoever before now, so those with type 2 had to make due with simply using more insulin in hopes that their cells would dispell enough.

Diabetic Pump:History and Origins of Type 2 Diabetes

From then on, type 2 diabetes history pretty much ran alongside that of type 1. Urine strips were introduced in the 1960s, development it easier than any other time in the history of type 2 diabetes to detect the estimate of insulin in the body. This made it far simpler for people to manage their diabetes. One time use syringes were introduced to the shop in 1961, getting rid of the need for the thick, durable early syringes that were had to be boiled to be cleaned, sharpened regularly, and were prone to developing painful barbs.

In 1969, Ames Diagnostics created portable glucose meters as a method to settle if an unconscious inpatient was diabetic or just drunk. Although these original meters weighed around three pounds, more modern technologies have reduced the size to that of a hand held calculator.

In the late 70's insulin pump were gesigned to mimic the natural insulin yield of the human body, and were initially carried by patients as a backpack type setup. Technology has influenced these as well, and they are now small enough to clip onto a belt or pocket. Much more recently, to do the job of insulin pumps oral medications have been released, development it so that many diabetics merely have to take a pill to control their insulin.
